Honor 90 and 90 Pro will come with fully-fledged 200MP cameras

According to rumors and recent leaks, it seems that Honor is already making plans for the Honor 90 series. According to Digital Chat Station, the new Honor 90 and 90 Pro will feature full-fledged 200 MP cameras. What does this mean? It means that they won’t have a resolution cap like the Honor 80 and 80 Pro had.

Honor 90 series will explore the maximum capacity of Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3

To put things in perspective, the Honor 80 and Honor 80 Pro reached the market with 160 MP cameras. However, there is no popular native 160 MP camera on the market. The fact is that both phones ship with the Samsung ISOCELL HP3 camera which is capable of outputting 200 MP shots. Honor decided to limit this sensor to 160 MP, and the reason is unclear. Perhaps, to make it different? We will never know. The fact is that with the Honor 90 and 90 Pro, that idea has been scrapped, and they will come with the same sensor in all its glory.

Gizchina News of the week

The new Honor 90 and 90 Pro will hit the market on May 90 and we already have images showing their design. It has a gorgeous back with two massive protruding rings for the rear cameras. As per the leaks, the Honor 90 Pro will pack the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It will also get a curved display with a 1224p display and support for 90W fast charging.

Alleged Specs

It’s unclear whether the Honor 90 will have the same chipset or will pack something lower on the ladder. The rumors point to the use of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. This does not make much sense, considering that the SD7 Gen 1 is an older chipset. The newer Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 would be much better. Still, we will need to wait for more details. We expect it to have a flat display with a similar resolution. However, in terms of charging, it will be “limited” to 66W.

Honor 90

Both Honor 90 and 90 Pro were spotted with model numbers REA-AN00 and REP-A00 in 3C certification. We will keep an eye on TENAA certification, after all, the phones will go through this important regulator ahead of their release. From this certification, we expect to uncover most of the phone’s remaining details. Just like the Honor 80 series, the Honor 90 series is expected to hit other markets after a few months. But it’s hard to predict how long Honor fans will need to wait as the exact release date for other markets is uncertain.
