iQOO Neo 8 Pro 5G is coming soon with Dimensity 9200

iQOO Neo 8

iQOO took the wraps off the iQOO Neo 7 series recently, but the industry keeps moving and it’s time to focus on the iQOO Neo 8 series. As per recent reports, the company is already developing the two new devices. We expect a standard iQOO Neo 8 and a Neo 8 Pro variant. Today, the reliable tipster Digital Chat Station brought some fresh details about the iQOO Neo 8 Pro 5G. According to these details, we can expect the usual flagship-like performance with some improvements.

As per the leaks, the upcoming device will sport a 1.5K display. That’s a new trend for Chinese brands to bet on this mid-term resolution between QHD+ and FullHD+. In addition to the resolution, the tipster brought some fresh details regarding the CPU and the Camera of the iQOO Neo 8 Pro 5G.

iQOO Neo 8 Pro set to bring flagship performance

The iQOO Neo 8 Pro will launch in May 2023, so there is still plenty of time ahead of the launch. Despite this, Digital Chat Station already confirms some tidbits. According to him, the phone will pack a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 CPU. Considering the Weibo post, MySmartPrice believes that the tipster is talking about a Dimensity 9200+ variant. But, I don’t think this is the case. I believe its text points to the Dimensity 9200 plus a 50 MP camera, and not a Dimensity 9200+. Of course, this is open right now, I can’t confirm anything. The Dimensity 9000+ arrived late last year, to counter the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. If there is a Dimensity 9200+ coming, we will hear more about it soon.

Right now, the Dimensity 9200 is the highest offering from MediaTek. It uses the 2nd gen 4nm manufacturing process and has 1x ARM Cortex-X3, and the Immortalis-G715 GPU. It will be the highest offering on an iQOO Neo 8 Pro series. Besides this CPU, the leakster also points to the use of a 50 MP 1/1.5-inch sensor. We don’t know exactly the other specs, but we expect the phone to also bring an ultrawide and macro sensor. We don’t think it will have a telephoto/periscope, but OIS is possible on this handset. The focus of the Neo series is more on performance than photography. So we expect it to be decent, but not revolutionary.

As per the leaks, the iQOO Neo 8 is also in the works. This one will pack the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead. Right now, these phones are expected for the Chinese market. We don’t know what are iQOO plans for the international market. Honestly, it’s quite unpredictable. The iQOO Neo 7 reached China, but in India, the company launched the iQOO Neo 7 as a rebadged Neo 7 SE. So we don’t know if all variants will make their way to the international scene.

The brand is also set to launch new mid-range phones under the iQOO Z7 series. These will come on March 20.
